Purpose:
The Human Resources Generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employee onboarding, and benefits management. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the business needs.

General Duties:
  • Maintains employee documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
  • Acts as an employee benefit specialist.
  • Schedules employee communication meetings and present topics for discussion.  This includes annual Open Enrollment meetings and subsequent benefit information meetings.
  • Monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner (i.e., three months, six months, one year and yearly thereafter).
  • Ensures HRIS information is accurate and up-to-date. This may include creating new positions/new departments, settings up FLSA codes for new positions, transferring employees to supervisors, making employee changes (shift change, department change, etc.), and more in the Company HRIS system.
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans.
  • Assist with ensuring Company benefit plans are compliant and up to government regulation.
  • Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes.
  • Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process.
  • Maintains and distributes list of new and cancelled employees under each benefit plan.
  • Verifies benefit billing accuracy and processes for payment.
  • Sends electronic paperwork to third party to administer COBRA for group health plans.
  • Develops and manages wellness activities for the Company.
  • Maintains paperwork for FMLA, Short Term & Long Term Disability.
  • Coordinating the set-up of EDI feeds for new benefit plans, when necessary.
  • Maintains 401K enrollment, hardship withdrawals, and in-service withdrawals and notify payroll.
  • Maintains department records and reports.
  • Assist with any specialty projects that may occur throughout the year, as needed.
  • Observes company rules and regulations concerning personal safety; wears personal safety equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Observes Kaizen and 5S procedures.
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High School Degree (or G.E.D. equivalent) required.
  • A four year degree from an accredited university in Human Resource Management (or similar degree) preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience working in human resources (or similar experience) preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience of HRIS system Paycom is preferred.
