Production Planner (Night Shift)

Kobe Aluminum Automotive Products, LLC, an aluminum forging automotive suspension parts manufacturer, is accepting resumes for the following position:


Job Summary:

Coordinates all sections in production to meet customer shipping schedules.

Essential Functions:

  • Requires constant physical activity throughout shift (except breaks and lunch) such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must understand the concept of creating and maintaining a schedule for material and capacities by effectively balancing supply and demand for product.
  • Makes complex decisions on business issues taking into account customer sales, safety, quality, manufacturing and operational requirements.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the company's products and processes to ensure optimal schedule stability, order creation, rescheduling and daily count sheet.
  • Work with sales, marketing and manufacturing to better understand competitive lead times for scheduled items.
  • Recognize products in production with corresponding QAD part numbers.
  • Conduct rough cut capacity planning prior to establishing a schedule in which significant changes have occurred.
  • Monitor orders against forecast; Operate Cyberquery reporting and review EDI releases and communicate to Manufacturing teams.
  • Coordinates with Logistics, shipping and receiving to maintain 100% on time delivery.
  • Insures inventory accuracy through the QAD system.Must be able to interpret a variety of reports (EDI, Cyberquery, Tooling, Scheduling and Shipping reports).
  • Maintains adequate inventory through all production sections to achieve a common Pull system.
  • Assists Forging and Casting sections in cost reduction, scrap reduction, and product quality.
  • Maintains daily production and inventory reports.Conduct inventory counts at all levels (40 – 80)

Job Related Functions:

  • Self- starter, multi-tasked and detailed oriented, good computer and math skills, manage time effectively, ability to prioritize and clear communication skills.
  • Observes all state and federal OSHA and EPA rules and regulations.
  • Participates in Kaizen and 5S.

Education and Training:

  • High school diploma and 2-5 years’ experience as a Production Scheduler in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
